My inspiration came from the fact that since a year now, I live with my aunt, witch is Asian. Yes, I have an Asian Family, but my mom is Quebecois, therefore, I was raise mostly with ”White” People. Since I live with my aunt, I’m surrounded by Asians. And I have a really good time with them, learning me how to cook and even speak Vietnamese. So basically, my video represent my ”New Family”.
Photo 1: This is a picture of my grand mother that I took at a family party. Brightness +16, Contrast +10, Saturation -3, Temperature +22. I blurred out the background a little bit.
Photo 2: It is a picture of my brother. Brightness +16, Contrast +21. Made the red popped and whitened his eyes.
Photo 3: My brother again, reading a book. Simply brought the picture as an black and white.
Photo 4: A portrait of my brother. Brightness +5, Contrast +33 and I did a vignetting with the brush tool.
Photo 5: I wanted to make my little cousin stand out of this picture, put emphasis on him. So i blurred everyone who stand on his sides.
The items I used for my cyanotype were mostly cylindrical object. One of them is mostly transparent, i wanted to make a contrast picture. I mean having something that let light pass through, and other ones that doesn’t:
- A glass bottle, with a paper in it
- A coffee cup
- The black envelope (the one that you gave us)
The way I proceed was a bit longer because I had to do it in 2 different parts. Since I wanted 1 part white, I had to hide it completely from the sun. The whole sun process took my 16 minutes (which is 8 minutes, 2 times) After, I brought it back to the lab to process the image itself.
